This gray horse is solidly moving forward, ignoring provocation from the black horse.  To me, the black horse represents dumb, time-wasting stuff that I don't enjoy.  The gray horse is me achieving my goals.  I was doing research on my PhD when I painted it, and I would look at it to remind myself to think only about what was in front of me, that I could accomplish, and not worry about what anyone else was doing, or what I thought things "should" look like.
