This painting is midway between what I saw and what I felt.  I became interested in exploring the richness of greens that can happen here in the spring, especially on a still day when the fields are reflected in the harbor.  I wanted to capture the feeling of coming around the corner to suddenly be immersed in a world of unexpected green, which is both uplifting and soothing.
