20" x 20"
acrylic on canvas
This painting happened after a day of going around the harbor, looking for the scene I wanted to paint. Nothing seemed quite right. After hours of this, I went back home and thought, "F-- it, I'll paint how I think it should look. I'll paint how it feels." I should tell you, that was a huge shift for my Virgo mind. But anything would be better than more hours of not finding a spot.
Well, I got out a bunch of paint and started laying it on thickly, with palette knives. I didn't second guess anything. For every color I put on, I just responded to it. I turned it upside down and worked on it that way. Several hours passed in the blink of an eye. This is the painting.
Painted on the edges, ships in a tube.
